What’s white with black spots and red all over?

Today is still school holidays, and there is therefore no Mainly Music session. After a quick trip to the playground and a visit to horses and ponies in a nearby paddock, Nico and I had a bit of face painting done (1 jar of white face paint + 2 drops of red food colouring = 1 happy Nico). Entertainment done and face paint gear put back on Nico’s table, it was time to hang the washing.

When I came back, it looked like Loki had gotten into a fight…

… it looked like a vampire had been dribbling throughout the lounge…

… and it looks like I’ve found my culprit.

An afternoon of scrubbing later, I called AMI to see if they could do something. They sent us a professional cleaner who spent an hour shampooing the carpet and he managed to spread the colour even more, though the carpet now looks bright red and, as Camilla suggests, quite gay (as in happy, not homosexual). We’ll see if AMI can offer a better solution, else it will stay as is and become Nico’s footprint in life.

Poor Loki got dragged, tail between his legs, under the shower for a good scrubbing.

Easter eggs and hot potatoes

Nico is 2 weeks shy of being 2.5 years.

He had his first real Easter hunt at Oma Yoke’s and despite competition from Holly and Loki, Nico found all his eggs.

Shhh… be vewy vewy quiet… I’m hunting wabbit eggs...

Eloïse just slept through the whole affair, only caring about the second-hand chocolate milk she was going to get after.

On Thursday work organised a mini-golf session at Treasure Island. Nico simply loved it - looks like we’ll have to go back soon. Throughout the game and until the last 3 holes or so, I had no idea how Eloïse fared, or even where she was, and who with. Turned out she was being at the centre of a pass-the-parcel.

With Jodie, Sam’s girlfriend, Irene, Bruce… and even Mark.

I had a hard time trying to convince Bruce to keep her in his team as a mascot, while he was telling Jodie to ‘get rid of that thing’.

Took Eloïse to a dollar store today. Same story with the lady at the counter who was quite happy to cuddle and talk to her while I shopped. And she kept going while I waited to pay for my things.
